Some love stories start with grand gestures — others begin with a thunderstorm and a bag of McDonald’s fries. For Hailey and Tanner, their journey began with what was *supposed* to be a fishing trip on Lake Haines, but Mother Nature had other plans.
As the rain poured down, they found themselves sitting in Tanner’s truck, talking for hours while sharing McDonald’s and laughter. That night, without realizing it, they set the tone for their entire relationship — easy, genuine, and full of connection.
“Though our first date was a personable and romantic night, I was at a time in my life where I didn’t have faith in finding ‘the one,’” Hailey shared. “But something about that night changed everything.”
Their bond only grew stronger from there. Hailey describes their dynamic perfectly: “Tanner is the ying to my yang. We both complement each other and complete each other. Our family says I’m the smart and social one while he’s the common sense and reserved one — and I couldn’t agree more.”
After three years of dating, Tanner planned a proposal straight out of a dream. During a weekend trip to North Carolina to see FSU football and a Morgan Wallen concert, he took Hailey hiking at Raven’s Rock State Park. Surrounded by mountain views, Tanner got down on one knee — and Hailey said yes.
Now, as they plan their wedding for June 26, 2026, they’re embracing every moment of this exciting chapter together.
Their engagement session, at Lake Clinch in Frostproof, Florida, was the perfect reflection of who they are laid-back, joyful, and deeply in love.
